SOLD 1960 MG MGA Restored

Description:

60 MGA Restored in the early 80's this is a clean well maintained driver. I would not hesitate to drive this on a 500 mile trip as long as you understand it is still a 60 year old British car. I drove about 30 miles while taking the pictures. The transmission is non-syncromesh so you must be gentle going into first as with all of these but the clutch and brakes work well. There is a cold start video in the Google gallery below. It had not been started in a month and it cranked for 15 seconds and started right up. Impressive for any car of this age. My friend is the owner. He restored the car in his garage, and has driven it for many years. He would have kept it forever if I had not presented the most perfect original 1 owner 63 Jaguar XKE of which he now owns.

Body: Paint and body work was done 30 plus years ago. Small bubbles appear on the fenders by the seals. Some scratches in the paint. The body work has held up very well. The chrome and stainless have some pitting. Paint has a deep shine. We did not polish it for the pictures. We wiped it off, and took it out.

Chassis: Some surface rust. Not a rusty frame mind you just surface rust. It handles and drives well. Tight steering, and brakes.

Engine: As previously mentioned the MGA starts right up, Idles well, and does not get hot. The motor was rebuilt during the restoration. An extra gear box is included in the sale. we do believe the engine is matching number.

Interior: Very good condition for the age of the restoration.

Here is a link to a google album with several pictures as well as videos with us starting and driving along the great San Rafael roads. In the videos you will hear my friend Ron discuss the restoration and how this car is just a perfect driving old car. I have show the car in great detail in this album. If you can not open the link I am happy to email the invite. Please message me your email address.

Please call me to ask any questions, make an appointment to see it, and of course make an offer.

My auction almost always end early due to a sale.
